Victor Davis Hanson American Greatness Two sets of laws now operate in an increasingly unrecognizable America. Consider the matter of unlawfully removing and storing classified papers. Donald Trump may go to prison for removing contested White House files to his home. So far Joe Biden seems exempt from just such legal jeopardy. But as a… Continue reading Two Sets of Laws for Two Americas
The Biden Presidency Is Unsustainable
Victor Davis Hanson American Greatness Imagine if Gavin Newsom was currently Vice President amid the final meltdown of the Biden family consortium. Does anyone doubt that Biden would then either be forced to resign by Democratic politicos (for reasons in addition to his escalating dementia), or would be impeached and perhaps abdicate Nixon-style? The presence… Continue reading The Biden Presidency Is Unsustainable
The Wild 2024 Race
Current polls, pundits, and politicos insist that the 2024 race is a sure rematch between former President Donald Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden. It may well turn out that way. But in past election cycles, summer polls 15 months before the general election usually did not mean much. In December 2003, the CBS poll… Continue reading The Wild 2024 Race
The Biden Family Caricatures
The Biden first family seems determined to confirm every stereotype of their antisocial behavior—to the point of dysfunctionality. During the 2020 campaign at least eight women alleged that then presidential candidate Joe Biden in the past had serially and improperly touched, kissed or grabbed them. One, Tara Reade alleged she was sexually assaulted by Biden,… Continue reading The Biden Family Caricatures
Biden Abroad: The Moral and Material Collapse of U.S. Foreign Policy
Victor Davis Hanson American Greatness The American post-Cold War order from the Ronald Reagan through George W. Bush administration is over. Barack Obama began its erosion with his tired lectures about the past sins of the United States. Obama empowered radical Islamists. He invited Russia back into the Middle East after a forty-year hiatus. He… Continue reading Biden Abroad: The Moral and Material Collapse of U.S. Foreign Policy
The Ukraine-American Gordian Knot
Most Americans sympathize with Ukraine and were and are willing to supply it with defensive weapons to repel Russian aggression. Proof of that goodwill is the virtual draining of U.S. weapon stocks—from stockpiles of anti-tank weapons and large-caliber artillery shells to anti-aircraft and surface-to-surface missiles. Yet the more the United States gives, the more Volodymyr… Continue reading The Ukraine-American Gordian Knot

Victor Davis Hanson American Greatness Walt Nauta is a 10-year-Navy veteran and served as an aide to former President Trump both in and out of office. Special Counsel Jack Smith has now indicted him for allegedly “making false statements in interviews with the FBI.” The indictment’s subtext is that Nauta refused to cooperate with, and… Continue reading Indict Walt Nauta? Why Not the Biggest Liars First?
It Was Always Only About Power With the Left
Victor Davis Hanson American Greatness Why do so many liberal climate-activist grandees fly on private jets? Or why do those who profited from Black Lives Matter have a propensity for estate living? Or why do the community-activist Obamas prefer to live in not one, but three mansions? The answer is that calls for radical equity, “power for… Continue reading It Was Always Only About Power With the Left
The Left Has Pushed the Envelope
Victor Davis Hanson American Greatness The Left is waging a full-fledged cultural revolution against traditional America. And the Maoist results are often as absurd as they are terrifying. Special-counsel John Durham just issued his final report on wrongdoing within the FBI, CIA, and the Department of Justice. The summary confirms that our premier investigatory and… Continue reading The Left Has Pushed the Envelope
The Absurdities of Our Age
Victor Davis Hanson American Greatness A sign of a civilization in headlong decline is its embrace of absurdities. Unfortunately for the United States, we are witnessing an epidemic of nihilist nonsense. Here are a few examples: Reparations How could a dysfunctional state like California even contemplate $800 billion in reparations? The state currently faces a… Continue reading The Absurdities of Our Age
