  1. Three biblical truisms regarding farming for Victor –

He who observes the wind will not sow,
and he who regards the clouds will not reap.
    Ecclesiastes 11:4

He who gathers in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.
    Proverbs 10:5

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.
    1 Corinthians 3:6

Of the many opportunities to listen to Mr. Hanson being interviewed, the depth and breadth of this session was stunning and so encompassing. Thanks for the education.

  3. Thank you, Dr. Hanson, for sharing your family’s history on its farm and in WW II. It reminded me somewhat of my Dad’s family. His father bought the Alabama farm he was renting in 1939, using a Federal loan program enacted especially for tenant farmers. Of my Dad’s six siblings, only one continued to farm. My Dad fought in WW II, and for reasons unknown even to him, stayed in the Army, made a career of it, then retired to that same farm his father bought 30 years before. My Dad did little or no actual farming. It must be said, however, that the Alabama farmland in question was really too poor to cultivate, unlike Dr. Hanson’s.
