  1. Dr. Hanson:
I am a Minnesota resident and am beyond angry at what the Democrats and Walz have wrought here in Minnesota.
I was reading Powerlineblog.com (“The Terror This Time”) this morning and saw a number of comments referering to a column by John Kass (https://johnkassnews.com/the-little-mogadishu-way-the-chicago-way/). He talks about those who have come to America to escape what lay behind them and their desire to be and become Americans. He contrasts those sentiments to Ilhan Omar and her glaring ingratitude along with the non-assimilation of her fellow Somalis.
Mr. Kass is quite clear as to what he sees as the only possible solution.
Does he have merit or does his solution point to the possibility that there is no real solution to the problem(s) he outlines?
    Best regards,
    Randy Penrod

  2. I am glum about the future of immigration and assimilation. One half of the country is either too young, or are immigrants themselves, to recall a U.S. when one didn’t have to “Push ‘One’ for English” or to speak pidgin and to gesture in order to communicate with clerks, cashiers, medical professionals etc.

That indifferent and unaware portion has no idea what it was like to be comprehended by fellow citizens… to not have to over-explain… to be mutually understood re. body language and values… and to not repeat oneself for clarity yet still disccover one’s prescriptions, table order, home repairs, etc. are consistently wrong.

There are too many billions at stake in continuing mass immigration legal and otherwise. Besides, Silicon Valley elites now provide instant translation devices to fix any cultural problem — app, app, app for everything…app, app, app…

Constantly, Americans are beaten down by pro-immigrrant propaganda and guilt-trips… “Pity the poor immigrant who had to give up his customs and language. Have some empathy!”

But where is the empathy for the American who is now a stranger in his own hometown? Where are the psychiatric teams to measure Americans’ levels of depression and internalized grief for loss of their own unique customs and universality of language?
