The Left’s Methods Bespeak Timidity and Mediocrity

Join Victor Davis Hanson and cohost Jack Fowler to examine Blinken’s rhetoric against Israel, Ukraine’s “Spring Offensive” 2023 in retrospect, immigrants flown to Florida and Texas, the myth of rural white rage, and asking Justice Sotomayor to retire.

I love the Jack episodes, but Jack, you need to watch your pronunciation of “Sotomayor”.

It’s not “soh-toh-mye-air”; it doesn’t rhyme with the last name of the famed late prime minister of Israel, Golda Meir. It’s “soh-toh-mye-ore”, rhymes with Eeyore.

It’s a purely regional American dialect pronunciation to make it rhyme with the city God destroyed along with Gomorrah in Genesis 19:1-29.

    1. Geeze she went to high school with my sister and married a dude from my neighborhood … I’m going to let my Bronx rule my tongue here. Thanks Baron.

  2. VDH’s voice is such a huge benefit to those of us who love the history, founding, traditions and culture of America. It is so heartbreaking that the left is so committed to destroying it all, without any concern as to what will fill the vacuum.

For any of the readers who want to drill down on Mr. Hanson’s history, including the history of the farm in California, I highly reccomend the interview he did specifically on this subject. It brought me to tears, and enlightened me as, to how much VDH and his fmily have endured over the last several hundred years. VDH is truely a American national treasure.

  3. Your podcasts are excellent 💪

On the Sotomayor replacement it would be interesting to hear your long-term perspective how having such a rigid trifecta of justices plays out: Kagan, Sotomayor and Brown. All three of them hold identical views, universally left and and universally aligned with the blue haired brigade protestors. At this point, we may as well give these three justices (Sotomayor, Kagan, Brown) placards and let them march around in circles with placards outside the court. Their views are so lightweight and pointless reading. Is this the future of the court?

“Is this the future of the court?”

It is, if another Leftist takes the White House, and Congress. The Leftists/progressives will continue to push to expand the number of justices, and push Leftist jurists.

Regarding the American Left, I always think of Reese’s description of a terminator, from the movie, and paraphrase it slightly: “They can’t be bargained with. They can’t be reasoned with. They don’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And they absolutely will not stop, ever!”

  4. Hey, Jack, this question is for you. To my memory I have never, ever heard you present Victor at the end of his wonderful podcasts with a reader’s comment from the Blade of Perseus. It seems you love to get your questions from the Apple podcast, though.

    Why the bias?

    1. I have. There is no bias but OK TO’B I’ll try harder here don’t want people thinking they’re out of sight out of mind.

  5. I thoroughly enjoy your shows and often share them among friends. However, as a retired radio broadcast audio engineer I have to complain about many of your recent podcasts, especially those hosted by Jack Fowler, where the audio by Victor Davis Hanson is overloaded and distorted. For a guy with ears, it’s just distracting.

Keep up the podcasts and terrific job you and your team are providing!

    Best, Ken
