Victor, you mentioned a new book in Swedish about Swedish immigration. My wife’s family is from Northern Maine (New Sweden, New Stockholm) and she taught herself how to read, write and speak Swedish over the last few years to honor a promise to her grandfather. I’ve been to Sweden twice and my youngest daughter got her masters at the University of Linköping (linkshoping).
My point… What was the name of the Swedish book?
PS I really loved “The World Wars” I’m halfway through “The Dying Citizen” and I just purchased an old library copy of “Ripple of Battle” that looks promising.

I appreciate the fomenting of juices in the minds of scholars who have the luxury of time (and pay) to flap their jaws about the ills of politics or government or international politics or money, really, all of that crap. But what about the grunts who have to act to defend or project the mindset of the idiots all of us idiots elect or support? What about the cannon fodder…yes, even the poor and stupid Russian conscripts? Think about it. And think this: America has very rich potential conscripts who are probably dumber than all of the other conscripts on the planet. Will they win, whatever winning is???
