Bottom Line: Trump wants to seize Kharg Island to control Iranian oil revenues, force democratic reform & drive out the Russians & Chinese, just as done with Venezuela. Meanwhile, U.S. is assembling military assets offshore & covertly arming citizenry for regime change with the help of Kurds to the north.
Implications are another democracy in the Mideast, proceeding with the Abraham Accords and leverage with Chinese to release rare earth minerals in exchange for oil, until we develop alternate sources. We need to be reimbursed for military expense from oil revenues; neighboring Arab countries need to contribute as well.

NATO and the Straight of Hormuz reminds me of the story of the Little Red Hen….”Who will help me bake the bread?”…”Not I” said the Cat…”Not I” said the Rat
