I have followed you for a long time and totally agree with your analysis from a policy viewpoint, because as always, it’s spot on.
However, from a human being viewpoint it’s a big disappointment that you cannot bring yourself to say just a little criticism about a US President using vile & low-life language on social media, and on Easter morning no less. He is threatening “a civilization” with death, because for a real estate guy a civilization obviously is bridges & roads, nothing else!!!
But for you VDH, a prominent classicist and scholar of civilizations, to quote the same threats casually, without the slightest criticism or caveat or simple human care, it’s painful indeed!
No doubt, the Saudi & others plan more pipelines to export oil & natural gas versus the Strait of Hormuz, but, If Trump doesn’t figure out how to seize & retain control of Kharg Island, the Chinese will occupy it given their relationship with Iran and need of its oil to fuel their economy.
