The liberals are so in control of everything and in lock step while conservatives have to fight one at a time as they reach the point where one by one they see the train derailing coming and have no way to curtail what is happening. Victor always seems to have this unremittingly pessimistic view of civilization. Societies that achieve material affluence and security are not doomed to degeneracy, it just confronts them with a different set of challenges. In Vedic astrology, the signs are divided into three stages: animal, civilization, and spiritual. The whole point of the spiritual stage is to reunite civilized people with their animal nature, so they may act in accordance with their true will without depending on the outside enforcement of a harsh natural world.
Like an old black and white movie, where the leading man slaps the hysterical woman, or the school mega bully that a hired street fighter beat to a pulp in front of the other school kids, I was wondering if there’s a metric to ascertain the level of violence required to return a situation to normal – to find the tipping point.
When will enough people be so unhappy and disillusioned with the tyrannical state that they vote in concert with their best interests rather than against? Are we near the notorious tipping point?
