Brotherhood Imposes Jizya Tribute on Egypt’s Christians

by Raymond Ibrahim // RaymondIbrahim.com

Now that the attacks on Egypt’s Christian churches have subsided, stage two of the jihad — profiting from the fear and terror caused by stage one — is setting in:reports are arriving that the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters are forcing the roughly 15,000 Christian Copts of Dalga village in south Minya province to payjizya — the money, or tribute, that conquered non-Muslims historically had to pay to their Islamic overlords “with willing submission and while feeling themselves subdued” to safeguard their existence, as indicated in Koran 9:29. In Egypt, Media Sympathizes with Muslim Brotherhood, Persecution of Christians Ignored

by Raymond Ibrahim // NRO’s The Corner

While Western media, following the lead of pro-Brotherhood Al Jazeera, continue demonizing the Egyptian military’s attempts to neutralize the Muslim Brotherhood terror bases – where people have been tortured, raped, and killed, all according to Islamist fatwas (yes, including the rape, more on this later) the media portray them as “sit ins” where Islamists are “holding vigil” only to be slaughtered by the military. The Siege of the Byzantium

by Raymond Ibrahim // National Review Online

Today, August 15, marks the anniversary of Constantinople’s victory over Muslim invaders in what historians commonly call the “Second Siege of Byzantium,” 717–18. Prior to this massive onslaught, the Muslims had been hacking away at the domains of the Byzantine empire for nearly a century. The Muslims’ ultimate goal was the conquest of Constantinople — for both political and religious reasons. Continue reading “The Siege of the Byzantium”

Walls of Hate: Anti-Christian Graffiti Vandalizes Egypt

by Raymond Ibrahim // RaymondIbrahim.com

With the ousting of Muhammad Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood, the homes and churches of Egypt’s Christians are seeing an unprecedented rise in anti-Christian graffiti.  The following are some of the pictures that were recently disseminated, captioned with translation of graffiti and location information.  The name of Coptic Pope Tawadros especially appears repeatedly, and is a reminder of the jihad unleashed on Egypt’s Christians, for daring to behave like free men and women by supporting the popular June 30 Revolution against the tyrannical Brotherhood. Islam on Cows, Horses Camels and Women

by Raymond Ibrahim // FrontPage Magazine

One of the few positive developments following the rise of the Islamists

By Peter Hagyo-Kovacs

during the “Arab Spring” is that today many average and/or nominal Muslims are seeing the true face of Islam and its teachings.  And many—as evinced by the June 30 Revolution of Egypt, which saw the ousting of the Muslim Brotherhood—don’t want to deal with it. Venn Institute: Most Americans see persecution of Christians and other minorities in Muslim majority nations as a recent phenomenon. Why is that not the case?

Ibrahim: It’s been going on, and the same exact patterns, for centuries. Such persecution is well recorded in the world’s primary historical texts—western and eastern. It’s not so well known in the West, however, because Western mainstream media are less interested in reporting ugly truths than they are in validating their secular, liberal narrative—a narrative which maintains that Muslims are fundamentally peaceful, and, far from being persecuted, Christians are the oppressors. How Dare You?! The Supremacist Nature of Muslim ‘Grievances’

by Raymond Ibrahim // Jerusalem Post

In 2012 in Pakistan, as Christian children were singing carols inside their church, Muslim men from a nearby mosque barged in with an axe, destroyed the furniture, desecrated the altar, and beat the children.  Their justification for such violence?  “You are disturbing our prayers…. How dare you use the mike and speakers?” Continue reading “How Dare You?! Muslim Brotherhood Out, Killing Christians In

by Raymond Ibrahim // Gatestone Institute

“I tell the Christians one word: We will set you on fire!” — Egyptian Muslim lady

“In scattered locations across Egypt, mobs of hard-line Muslims,” according to Morning Star News, “enraged over the deposing of the country’s Islamist president [Muhammad Morsi] this week attacked Christian homes, business[es] and church buildings and were suspected in the shooting death of a priest.”

None of this should come as a surprise. As Gatestone Institute reported at the beginning of Egypt’s June 30 revolution, anonymous “letters addressed to the Copts threatened them not to join the protests, otherwise their ‘businesses, cars, homes, schools, and churches’ might ‘catch fire…. This message is being delivered with tact. But when the moment of truth comes, there will be no tact’.” Several popular and influential Brotherhood leaders and supporters made the same threats, including Sheikh Essam Abdulamek , Dr. Safwat Hegazy , Dr. Wagdi Ghoneim, and Sheikh Abdullah Badr.
