Victor Davis Hanson and cohost Jack Fowler talk about the settlement for E. Jean Carroll, DC juries in a time of lawfare, the border crisis, the desperate Left and its desperate measures, and RFK jr. and vice-presidential picks.

The Professor is correct. This is not America (remember that song from “The Falcon and the Snowman”?) It’s Nazi Germany/Stalinist Russia 2.0.
Thank you VD Hanson for your support for America. We are indeed in dangerous uncharted waters in American history.
We need wisdom and logic and you have both in spades!
Thanks for the background on Carroll, had no idea about the benefactor in Silicon Valley. 25 years after a “rape” for which date, she can’t remember. I would think the date would be up there with December 7th, a “date that shall live in infamy,” on the personal level. The celebrating with Rachel Maddow and “going shopping on Trump’s money,” was not optics of someone who suffered the violent crime of rape. This is a paid actress.
Carrol’s smart. Why provide a specific date that the defendant can then likely prove he was elsewhere, attending to a very busy and documented schedule.
Victor – You talked extensively about what the left is doing to our constitutional system. I have coined a term to describe this phenomenon – “Constitutional Terrorism” or “Constitutional Terrorist”
I first came up with when reflecting on what Joe Biden and the left have done to our border.
Feel free to use it
Love listening to you Pod Casts! Keep up the great work
Victor, are you looking forward to seeing the new Spielberg movie about B17 bombers “Masters of the Air”?
Wasn’t that the plane your dad flew in WW2? I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed last weeks podcasts. i really loved that Jack let you go on so long about the Civil War generals Sherman,Lee,Grant Longstreet. I was thoroughly engrossed in the story. I imagine Jack was captivated as well, which is likely why he let you go on without interruption. It was one of my all-time favorite shows. Whenever you get on a roll like that,I could listen to you forever.
Another excellent podcast. I do slightly disagree with your pessimism though. There are many hopeful signs the current insanity is waning or at least that there is a critical mass of people who are awake to the dangers. I think there are 12 states that have banned DEI administrators in their publicly funded universities. There has been a lot of pushback against U Penn, Harvard, and MIT including some large losses of donations. The alternative media, e.g., Substack, Rumble, The Daily Wire are reaching critical mass and gaining audience quickly. The corporate media is dying. There was even an article in the Atlantic saying as much and predicting 2024 would be another year of existential threat. X serves as a growing platform where ideas and news can reach the public free of censorship and bias. The Supreme Court will soon rule on the legality of the Censorship Industrial Complex and hopefully will declare it illegal.
It is also encouraging that Trump seems to be rising sharply in the polls with every passing month despite the media smear campaign against him. It makes me think that the lack of trust in the media is finally coming home to roost. I’m hopeful that Trump if he wins will have a game plan from the Heritage Foundation to take back and clean out the Federal departments. He will not be deterred by the corporate media and the deep state this time around.
The war is not over, but we are starting to win some victories.
RE Trump’s VP Choice, my favorite is Sarah Huckabee Sanders. She has been strong with her actions as Governor of Arkansas. She has excellent speaking skills as well.
It might be an excellent advice especially in looking for parallels in ancient history.
However, the professor’s repeated call to not be so offensive tweating responses to the enemy is the opposite of the ‘bull in the china-shop’ req. Every fragile piece of glassware in that shop needs to broken into a thousand pieces. Turn that Jersey Bull loose.
Thank you once again Professor Hanson for filling in the missing pieces to this ludicrous $83.3 million miscarriage of justice verdict against Trump. I had been thinking what an opportunity for Tara Reed to pick up some substantial easy money. She would need no evidence to support her allegation against Biden using the E. Carroll case as a precedent. Then what a slam dunk Monica’s case against Slick Willie would be should she sue using the same “legal” precedent. DNA evidence on her dress would be characterized as redundant, overkill to her testimony. This nation cannot survive such blatant folly or that of “Baghdad Bob” Mayorkas protecting our border. How can any sane person support the presently constituted Democratic party
You are right, in that even the Democrats know that Biden is a loser.
But you’re wrong, that the Democrats will lose the presidency.
Here are two reasons:
1) Donald Trump cannot keep his mouth shut.
2) Biden will have some health event or some other thing that will prevent him from running, and the only person they’ll be able to run will be the “reluctant” Michelle Obama, who’ll ride to the rescue.
And she will win. And America will fall into revolution or ruin.
RFK is not a conservative. He is an environmental lawyer/activist and will continue many of the left’s green agenda. Don’t think for a moment that he will be a plus to conservatives.
Victor, you are right. We no longer have Bill O’Reilly on Fox but we have Jesse Waters. We no longer have the late great Rush Limbaugh but we do have Victor Davis Hanson , we do not have Tucker Carlson on Fox. but we do have Tucker unleashed on X with Elon Musk. We may not have all the institutions, but we do have the American public. We may not have DEI but DEI is dying. There is a lot to look forward to.
Thank you Professor Hanson! Another great one!
Dr. Hanson, you have no idea how important it is for us to hear your talks and listen to you break things down. Yes Rush is gone but you are here for the now! And golly do we need your insight!
Thanks again!
Your assessment of our “year of living dangerously” is inarguable.
Since the 70’s under Carter the Democrat administrations have used our military resources like a cheap sponge to scrub the messes from the nasty spots on their global plans. The costs in blood and treasure are incidental to that intent. At the same time they ignore “si vis pacem parabellum” as they claw the Rebublican martial buildups to repair their damage down to bone scraping scraps. Now that their DEI is force fed by a disastrous leadership to the demoralized troops and war stocks are being depleted, our enemies see their big chance. In addition, the glaring weakness of our nonexistent civil defence and EMP protection to match our enemies is criminally ignorant.
The Professor is correct. This is not America (remember that song from “The Falcon and the Snowman”?) It’s Nazi Germany/Stalinist Russia 2.0.
Even Jesus lost his temper, even getting physical in the temple. He never asked for forgive for his outburst because he knew it was justified.

Couldn’t agree more. I watched that clip and had to take a couple of Advil afterwards.

VDH, please offer your counsel to DJT as a political advisor. He can use your calm, clear manner to respond to issues.
Please consider this.

The lesson is: Avoid New York State and the District of Columbia at any cost. These are hazardous and destructive areas.
The Democrats have the pedal to the metal — destination amnesty and instant citizenship for more than 15 million people.

“Only three boxes” seems to make more sense every day, I wonder what the last straw will be, there are already plenty of Martyrs.
