WWII Peripheral Wars and Post-Election Shake Up

Listen to Victor Davis Hanson’s weekend episode with cohost Sami Winc. VDH talks about the peripheral wars in WWII, the shake up at the LA Times, the Left clinging to “mass” rhetoric on deportations, Gen. Austin on “lawful” orders, the Daniel Penny trial, and Melania Trump coming into her own.

Just as I was listening to your very interesting description of the campaigns in North Africa and southern Europe, and the successes and failures of Allied bombing campaigns, I was thinking “and not a single bomb could be spared to bomb the train tracks to Auschwitz”. I apologize, as then you had a discussion of the German fixation on slaughtering every Jew in Europe.

I had read it somewhere, but never before heard mentioned, the scene of WWI veterans marching into German death camps holding their iron cross medals over their heads. It doesn’t make me feel all that much better about the failure of the Dutch government to give more than rhetorical condemnation of the pogrom in Anne Frank’s home city of Amsterdam this week, but thanks anyway. Perhaps you could discuss the future of Europe? Or have they lost the Crusades? Israel will survive, but will they be surrounded by Islam to the North as well as alongside them?
