Michael Moynihan is an example of the failed “experts” who seem to pretest too much. His summary of Tucker Carlson’s career is replete with condescending assertions that are based on assumptions about the validity of his critics. Are we really to believe that Carlson’s firing from Fox is proof of his incompetence? Is the “conservative elite” as exemplified by Mr. Moynihan and presumably Fox really the source of all wisdom? It is clear that Mr. Moynihan can hold his own as a knowledgeable interviewer, but his opinions are of little interest to me absent a prior demonstration of some level of knowledge. Our institutions, including TheFP.com, have lost nearly all legitimacy. Moynihan’s comes across as a rather arrogant person for those of us who had never heard of him before this interview.
