Hard to pass on the American Dream to the next generation when they sent all the jobs overseas.

I was born in late 1962, co-raised by 1890s-born grandparents, and graduated high school in 1980. The next year saw 18.63% home mortgages. I held two, even three part-time jobs for 30 years… didn’t own a home until 40 and couldn’t afford children. No complaints. I’ve betrayed no one.

Professor, regarding the loss of values by the third generation. I have noticed that when the first generation builds something, the 2nd generation maintains it, and the 3rd and 4th generation fritters it away. Isn’t this the sequence which happens in empires? Isn’t there something about the 3rd and 4th generations in the Bible? Perhaps there is something in human nature which causes the 3rd and 4th generation that the world of their grandparents will last forever.

Hagia Sophia: In 2020, a Turkish court revoked its museum status, and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan then converted it back into an active mosque. While it serves as a place of worship, it remains a historical site with access for both Muslim worshippers and tourists.

I remember being taught about communism and to be ashamed of my country (US) in the 70s. I walked in on a conversation between one of my teachers and a fellow student who were discussing the need for the good of the state. I then asked what about the good of the individual in order that the good of the state may occur? It was returned with silence. Sadly.

It would be nice if some animal rescue shelter close to Selma would set up a website “Hanson Hound Hostel” and help Victor with some of the dogs that local reprobates incessantly dump on his farm. Who would not want to adopt a certified, authentic “VDH Puppy” as a rescue dog?

Prof. Hanson, on the subject of American generosity. The Jerusalem Post reports that this years’ textbooks to be used on the West Bank, and by UNRWA in Gaza, will once again not identify the state of Israel on their maps. I think I’ve heard the same promises from the Palestinian Authority to change those maps for every year for decades. Can you confirm that, and discuss the difference between being generous and being gullible?
