@JCC – maybe she’s just channeling the Threes Stooges.

    “Oh, a microphony!”
“And a phoney at the mike!”
    *slap*
    “Oh!!!!”

I think Sami’s intro could use a correction for better precision, when she says that 1944 saw the war lost for “the Japanese and the Nazis.” It wasn’t the Nazis, it was the Germans.

The cartoonist Bill Mauldin talks about this in his book, “Up Front”. He said, “We saw very few Nazis, unless we came up against an SS unit…when a dogface is sweating out an 88 barrage in his fox hole, he doesn’t say, ‘Those dirty Nazis!’ He says, ‘Those goddam Krauts!'”

    Precision.

Victor, some of us who love your work are becoming concerned about obivous errors. For example, George Floyd did not kill Trayvon Martin and David Hogg was not chariman of the Minnesota DFL,, he was a HS student. Please get some professional help as these errors hurt your effectiveness. THis has been going on for some time now.

  4. What the heck is Sami Winc talking about when she says “kack-a-phony”
Did she get her tongue wrapped around her eye teeth and was unable to see what she was saying?
    😂😂😂
    noun (plural cacophonies)
a harsh discordant mixture of sounds: a cacophony of deafening alarm bells.

You commented on the Spaniards’ practice of only allowing single Catholic men come to New Spain. I know that that is true but I read that the Spanish colonists intermarried with the natives frequently. What is a better way of showing that you are not condescending than the most intimate relationship imaginable which produces your heirs. The French intermarried but the English Protestants wouldn’t dream of it.
