That was interesting of Victor to bring up Enoch Powell. He was not only a gifted classicist as evidenced by his mastery of Greek and Latin, but also the canary in the goldmine when it came to British immigration. He foresaw the dangers of unfettered immigration and paid a very high price for his courage.
The infamous “rivers of blood” quote unfairly transmogrified him into some arch white supremacist for which he never recovered, both politically and socially. Some have said that had he made the quote in the original Latin nobody would’ve had the foggiest idea of what he was talking about.
