  1. If I remember correctly, the late Charles Krauthammer advised that it was essential to build the border wall, before revamping immigration policy. The reason being, how can you “fix” immigration if the border is essentially open.

IMO new immigration will get sorted, including a wall – but the Democrats will likely organize themselves to “die on the hill of mass deportations”.

A revitalized economy opens a lot of doors, both foreign and domestic. Lower the price of oil, for example, and your domestic population enjoys the fruits whilst your oil exporting enemies gnash their teeth. Reduce regulations, taxes – while reducing waste spending. It sounds impossible given the last 40 years of government – if possible, it would be a vindication of capitalism and democratic government.

Here’s to a continuation of the Grand Experiment.

  2. President Trump‘s nomination, for AG is brilliant because the details behind the January 6 “Fedsurrection” need to be clarified. Stephen, D’antuono, the former assistant Director in charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, testified to the House, Judiciary Committee, that maybe there were “a handful” of FBI confidential human sources in the crowd on January 6. Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz before the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, did not deny FBI informants were among the crowd on January 6, and could not recall the number of confidential human sources who are reimbursed for travel on this day, Based upon aggregated videos, Matt Gaetz suspects that Ray Epps was a federal informant seen in a video inciting the crowd to go to the Capital. There is also a report of pipe bombs at both the DNC and RNC headquarters in the late morning of January 6. Kamala Harris was reported to have been at the DNC headquarters at this time. Could this have been a possible motive to siphon off police forces from the Capitol to respond,to this matter. This Machiavellian Coordinated plot seems to have been aimed to maximize the chance for violence at the Capitol. The overarching backdrop of this day was the denial by Nancy Pelosi for National Guard troops. I think it’s essential that Donald Trump investigate the possibility that the Democrats were indeed the insurrectionists. This sleight-of-hand by the Democrats would serve as propaganda against any future Donald Trump effort, to run for president. Donald Trump was framed by the Democratic Party and FBI, for the insurrection. Matt Gaetz has the political will and index of suspicion, to uncover the nefarious plot. For this, I am hopeful.

  3. I’ve been a subscriber to the Blade of Perseus for a couple of years. This is the first time that I have been compelled to comment.

Victor, you are absolutely on fire in this podcast. I don’t recall having been as enlightened, as elated, or as touched as I was by this installment.

    Thank you!

  4. Oh my gosh, one of my favorite episodes ever. From the utter despair of the sad passing of Victor‘s daughter to , five minutes later, laughing out loud at the demise of DEI and Joe Biden‘s euphoria of inviting Donald Trump to the White House. Thank you, Victor.

  5. Victor,
Your podcasts provide excellent insight about history and politics, and you do them in a way that connects with and engages ordinary people. I was saddened hearing you tell of the tragic loss of your daughter, and minutes later I was laughing at your impersonation of a nasally voiced Harris supporter. Thank you!

  6. Professor Hanson, I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. What a heart breaking tragedy. Thank you for sharing the story. The insensitivity of the person who called to buy back the bench is astounding. I’m sorry for that as well. Thank you so much for your podcasts and interviews. I have learned so much from you. I love to hear you speak.

  7. Good show. Joy Reid – we are truly sick of seeing her on almost all of the Fox shows. Fox keeps her employed. Fox plays videos of her, to exhibit how hateful she is, and we understand how hateful she is…so Fox, stop it already.

    1. I totally agree with you. I am so tired of Fox showing “The View”, MSNBC, CNN on literally every program all day and evening. Gutfeld! too. It’s just making them relevant. Maybe if they would never give them airtime it would make them disappear for good.

    2. It may be tiresome to see but for those who do not watch CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, and other networks, it has been good to see Fox play the coordinated democrat message and messengers as it builds understanding of what Americans are taught constantly from the airport terminals to the fitness clubs to the doctors’ offices and at home.

I am interested in understanding better why Americans believe what they do so the Fox broadcasts allow me to get a glimpse of what our countrymen are taught. The liberal spokesmen come across as highly convicted and confident in what they say and because of this, they are persuasive, and their perspectives are readily adopted.

  8. Two topics:
vis-a-vis FEMA avoiding properties with Trump signs/paraphernalia: What are the odds that the hurricane that came through and flattened houses and uprooted trees left paper Trump signs on the lawn? Jack Brewer spoke to his relief teams not seeing any FEMA people. They didn’t need to identify specific properties. They avoided the whole area.

Regarding the Jackwad who wanted to buy back your daughter’s memorial bench. First, I am so sorry that you experienced that pain. It did remind me of the woman who interviewed Goebbels after WW II. She expected to be with a monster and was shocked by his banality. She coined the term “The Banality of Evil” at that point. You could at least respect a fire-breathing monster but these bureaucrats are just banally evil.

    1. Charles,

Nice post. You make some good points about the intact “paper Trump signs” and the shameful response of Biden administration. These are the same people who turned their backs on East Palestine, sicced the FBI on parents at school board meetings, and denied habeas corpus rights to J6 trespassers.

May they rot in the dustbin of history.

NB: Goebbels, along with his wife and six children committed suicide about week before the Nazis surrendered. I believe you’re referring to Adolf Eichmann and Hannah Arendt’s book, Eichmann in Jerusalem.

  9. I can relate to your frustration with cemetery salesmen. You’re not alone when it comes to dealing with these clowns.

My mother died in 2016 from complications of hydro encephalitis. I wanted to place her in the same niche where my grandmother was resting, so I made some inquiries. The first person I dealt with told me that he had checked with the groundskeeper and there was definitely room for another urn. I asked him what the cost would be. He said around $1200. It took a little while to find the paperwork for the niche as my grandmother died in the 1980s. When I called back, I was told that the person I had been working with had quit. I was then referred to somebody else. They informed me that there definitely was NOT any room for an urn and that I would need to purchase a new niche at around $3,000. I thought this was a bit suspicious, so I held off making a decision. A couple months went by before I finally decided to take the plunge. For some reason the owner picked up when I called. He gave me a long winded sales pitch about all the repairs and upgrades they were making. I couldn’t get a word in edge wise. Finally, I asked him how much a niche would cost. He paused for a moment before saying, “about $5,500.” I thanked him and hung up.

My aunt suggested placing my mother in a different cemetery where my gg grandmother was resting. To my surprise, the phone call to the salesperson went well and was in sharp contrast to my previous experience. She was honest…

  10. …and explained the niche options along with the exact cost of each one in about ten minutes, before then emailing all of the info to me.

I found out later that this cemetery was a nonprofit organization and that the other one was not.

  11. Professor Hanson and Ms. Winc,

I did some calculations as to the money burn of the Harris-Walz campaign.

    $1BB/107 days = $9.35MM/day.

Recent reporting has it the entire campaign expenditures when you factor in Harris-Walz affiliate PACs equal ~$1.6BB.

    $1.6BB/107 days = $14.95MM/day.

This makes the plot of the Richard Pryor movie “Brewster’s Millions” look like spending a child’s allowance.

PS: I’d love to take Jack and Sami to dinner sometime to hear their thoughts on any topic, big or small. I need a round-the-world cruise for Professor Hanson.

    Steve G.

  12. Victor I am a longtime listener. Recently I was introduced to a book by John Taylor Gatto (deceased) called Dumbing Us Down. It addressed our broken and planned education system designed to dumb us down. I am wondering if you or Larry Arn from Hillsdale are familiar with his work regarding education system. I am hoping you or Dr. Arn could facilitate getting Gatto’s knowledge to Trump or the next leader of Dept of Education?? God bless you and Dr, Arn for all you do. And kudo’s to Jack and Sami.
