I have a more civilized and workable suggestion for your letter writers above. Reopen the mental institutions. Jimmy Carter shut them down on the idea there would be residential group homes for the patients. Didn’t happen, and patients ended up living on the streets.

I consider myself a very compassionate individual. In the case of the young Ukraine girl publicly murdered and in all such slam dunk cases I believe justice needs to be swift, definitive and publicly televised.
Regardless of the perps mental health, poor boy up bringing or any other bleeding heart excuses this POS needs to be executed immediately. By the most painful and disgusting way possible, I am a fan of drawing and quartering him although I would also offer beheading, stoning to death or evisceration while being hung. I would also support burning at the stake, death and cremation at the same time would save tax payer money.
I make no apologies for my desire to see him eradicated from this earth along with thousands more when the case is so obviously a guilty finding.
Enough of the bleeding hearts, we euthanize dangerous animals, time is long overdue to do the same to human criminals. Swift justice is the only solution. I will debate anyone anywhere on this issue and prevail.

I can make the same argument about “Phillies Karen”. People from ordinary social media users to radio show hosts are making arguments about her, assuming that she’s a Leftist. Nothing about her identity has been confirmed, and some statements offered as fact have been refuted. For example, early on, an attempt to dox her was made, claiming she worked for the Hammonton, NJ, school district, and has been fired from her job. The district issued a statement to refute this.
All we know about her is that she’s a jerk, she lost the scrum for a home run ball, she went to the father who won the scrum and gave the ball to his son, and demanded it back. He chose to de-fuse the situation and gave her the ball. And that she has a haircut that people tend to associate with upper-middle class white women. So she must be a Democrat, a liberal/Leftist/progressive, and therefore, she acted this way. And that tends to imply that no Republican ever acted like a jerk, no conservative. Those are all assumptions, and it’s irresponsible to go do the path of arguing from assumptions. It’s human nature, too, but it’s one of the worse aspects of our nature, and we should work to overcome it.

As far as Newsom’s land redistribution plan goes, is anyone talking about actually taking land from its owners, or is it more a case of favoring minorities (ie, blacks) and Indians through preferential treatment in property loan programs? Victor and Jack seem to discuss this as though the former is the case, that land will be seized and redistributed. Victor hinted at farmers defending their property with force.
I was curious and did a search, and it sounds like it’s the latter-favorable treatment, preferential treatment, for blacks and Indians:
