  1. Hello, Professor Hanson. I know you like Tucker Carlson and so do I. But I think he may be the catalyst for Mike Pompeo’s fall from grace with the Trump team, to the extent that he has earned enough influence. I have heard him in more than one occasion calling Mr. Pompeo a criminal because he tried to have someone murdered. I think I know who that someone is, but I hesitate mentioning the name until I find the episode of his podcast when I heard him naming him. Thank you

  2. Are you perplexed by the lack of political acuity evidenced by Republican senators who vote against President Trump’s cabinet picks? The standard is merely advice and consent. Without disqualifying factors or questions related to merit they are presumed corrupt or compromised. Politics as usual do not exist. They have nothing to gain and everything to lose even if they fear disclosure of matters now hidden by agencies. They are foolishly bringing negative public attention when there are villains on the other side and plenty of them. What am I missing?

  3. I doubt that Biden knew who he was pardoning other than possibly his family members. As Speaker Johnson revealed, Biden wasn’t aware that he blocked the construction of LNG export facilities. Throughout his term, his handlers put documents in front of him to sign and said something like “It’s just a requisition for more pencils, sir.”

  4. Sorry but I don’t think Pompeo is anything more than a deep state *******. I know you think this guy is ok but almost nobody in the previous Trump administration is clean. I trust Trump’s judgment this time. Pompeo has the money but he should be safer with Fed prison guards.

  5. Professor Hanson makes me laugh; his humor is so dryly hilarious and his impromptu impressions are a riot. I’ll be listening intently to a serious topic and then he hit us with a remark like “confederacy of dunces” and it cracks me up. I wish I’d had the opportunity to be his student but I’m certainly grateful for the podcasts. Thank you Professor, thank you Sami and thank you Jack. Allison B, Sonoma County CA.

You said that the Naval Academy draws intellectuals rather than blood-and-guts people like Gen Patton. Didn’t you say that Gen Patton was intellectual? The Academy produces a number of Navy SEALs every year. Do you think that people enter the SEALs to avoid physical combat? The Academy also produces a large number of Marines every year. Apart from political views, do you think that people select Marine ground specialties (not including cyber) to avoid combat?
