The Left in the US and in Britain

In this Friday news roundup, Victor Davis Hanson and cohost Sami Winc discuss anti-Trump rhetoric and debate performance, the new SAVE Act, Keir Starmer’s cabinet and leftism, Biden interview with Stephanopoulos, Biden taps the long-running Immigration and Nationality Act to deport, Eva Marie Saint at 100, and Ozempic has many applications.

  1. Dear God, no! I only listen to one blog every week: Victor and Jack x two, Victor and Sami x two. That’s it! The idea of you floating around the Atlantic or Lake Michigan in some Hillsdale bacterial deathtrap worries me to no end. If you must go, please lock yourself up in your cabin and give any required talk over one of those tube thingies. And put a mask over it! I don’t want Larry spraying a bunch of covid germs down the wrong pipe along with ‘Victor! GET YOUR ASS UP HERE!!!’. My reason for living rests in your hands.

    1. Assuming you are not one of Biden’s 22 LLCs set-up to launder some of the incoming foreign green stuff for data stored in the honored Halls of Penn State or in a dilapidated garage next to faded, old ‘vette ; you are exactly spot-on.

We can’t have Professor VDH “…floating around the Atlantic or Lake Michigan in some Hillsdale bacterial deathtrap….” when his take on things political is so needed here; and more keenly felt with the yesterday’s skip of school by LD. RIP LD.

Do you suppose we could get ole Larry to issue such an order for us’ans here?

      Cheers ;-)….

Professor Hanson, you indicated that you took nicotine gum for one week and it did not help. There is no way to know for sure that nicotine will be helpful for your long Covid. Nicotine affects numerous neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and nor epinephrine. For that reason it has effects on our mood and sense of well-being. Unfortunately, your trial was more than likely not adequate to assess your response. If you had no side effects with the 2 mg gum, you could probably safely use the 7 mg patch and would need to give it at least a week if not more to have a full effect. Nicotine also reduces the inflammatory response by decreasing cytokines which require several weeks to normalize. Chewing the gum makes it hard to obtain 24 hour coverage, which is required to get a consistent blood level and get the full effect. I know because I have tried to do it and it’s very hard. If you have no side effects on the 7 mg you can try chewing some gum to see if side effects would occur with a higher dose. It may mean that you’ll require 14 mg or even 21mg depending on your body’s metabolism of the nicotine. Have a safe trip and be careful. WT Terry MD.

Whoever or whatever algorithm Indicated my post about nicotine was repetitive. I most certainly have posted some of the information before but repetition can be good if not essential. it was done in an attempt to be helpful and explain to Professor Hanson, why his trial of nicotine may not have worked for him and what might be done to rectify that situation. it is difficult to know if the post would be excepted or rejected based on the categorical statement that it is repetitive. Thank you for your kind attention.

  4. Listener request: Could Victor try to interview Liz Truss? She was on the Dan Crenshaw podcast a little while ago. She might offer some insights into what went wrong in the recent election and what forces within the party pushed her out.

Prophetic words, Victor. On Saturday, we saw the other alternative to lawfare in action.

We’ll see how things go between now and November.
