  1. Victor, thank you for the most succinct, insightful & clear-eyed summary of the Second Gulf War. I have never heard it demystified better. I too initially supported the war, but when I saw documentaries with American farm boys patrolling down dusty roads in a primitive Afghan village I thought “what are we doing here?” Appropriate military use may be necessary (Iran nukes). But like you, I never want another American’s blood spilt for people who hate us. Thanks for your ever- present wisdom.
