Join the weekend edition with Victor Davis Hanson and cohost Sami Winc: the defeat of France 1940, October surprises, more on Israel and the Longshoremen, polls in Pennsylvania, and Christopher Rufo investigates the reach of DEI damage in our culture.
Thank you for remembering East Palestine, Ohio in your broadcast. It may interest you to know that many former residences left town to find work in either North or South Carolina. And since the hurricane, this area has sent them help.
Dr Hanson,
Another talking point regarding the audacity of the democrats election maneuvers is the recent robust jobs report a few weeks after downwardly adjusting the year to date report by 800,000. Democrats love to be lied to by their leaders.
An observation regarding DEI. When academia allowed for the creation of ethnic studies and women’s studies majors they created groups with no employment opportunities. DEI is a jobs program for minorities. I think you would agree that Humanities and Social Science enrich and improve our life, but society doesn’t benefit from too many with no other skill set.
An observation on immigration. I have extended family via marriage who live in Mexico. The Mexican healthcare system is pay as you go even in life threatening emergency situations. It is not that you get better care if you can afford it, you get no or very little care if you have no cash. One might dislike the USA, but gaining access to healthcare is a big draw.
Professor Hanson, your comments about the VP debate moderators trying to out-toady each other reminds me of the left’s ever-present lie. We are promised “The reason communism hasn’t worked is that it’s never been done correctly … but we know how to get it right this time.”
What it really shows is that the left appears to be incapable of learning from their mistakes, from toady propagandists to their top tier of leadership.
Ideologues seldom learn from their mistakes, because as fanatics, they believe they don’t make mistakes.
Are you “one of them”, Sir? (re: The Baron)
