I have many problems with Pope Francis but the greatest deals with his obligations as Shepard. Specifically, with China. He wouldn’t even see the Chinese Cardinal. The CCP provided him with the names of priests from which they (CCP) allowed the Pope to choose bishops. Pictures of Xi Jingping have to be placed in the churches. I believe the Pope has lost generations of Chinese to the Catholic Church. Hopefully other denominations who demonstrate courage will pick them up.

Dennis Prager once observed about Pope Francis that his theology was Catholic, but his worldview was Leftist. I think that was pretty insightful. As an American Catholic, I was not a fan of Francis.
When he fell ill, I thought he should have taken the opportunity to step down for reasons of health, and let the cardinals convene and select a new, younger pope. Preferably, hopefully, someone with a better focus on the real challenges facing our Church. Someone from Africa, for example, or from Asia, someplace where a Catholic, or an adherent of any Christian denomination, for that matter, faces real threats, even death, for our faith. That tends to focus the mind as opposed to us fat and happy Catholics in Europe, and North and South America.
Rest in peace, Francis, and let us move on.
