Dr. Hanson: Give thought to writing a book about your home/neighborhood covering your lifespan there: “Little House on the Orchard” or so. Cover the Japanese, Sikhs, bronco-busting uncle, 5-day visitor, Swedish clan events, etc. It would be a gift to the world and you would be smiling while toiling.

  2. I was visiting Alcatraz a few years ago and I noticed that the place is falling apart. I saw an Alcatraz park employee and asked him why are they not fixing this decayed Island. He told me that the ticket you purchase to come out here, NONE of the monies that are collected at the ticket office go back into fixing and restoring Alcatraz. He said “I don’t know where it goes(the money), but you didn’t hear that from me”. I would imagine it going to help pay for all the pensions, to keep California voters to keep voting Blue(IMO).

Thank you Victor for a truly heartwarming episode today. The stories about your family were wonderful and caused much reflection on my part with my own history. Your podcasts only seem to get better and better,,.
