While I applaud Israel’s strike against their Hezbollah attackers, and their post-Oct 7 retaliation against Hamas, I don’t think we can predict with confidence how the fortunes of this “war” will fall out – and the Oval Office is de-facto empty of a cogent elected President until at least Jan. 21, 2025.
Any action taken by the White House before Jan. 21, will be organized by faceless bureaucrat(s), as we have seen throughout much of the Biden “administration”. I don’t have much confidence in these self-described “elites”, whoever they are.
As Prof. VDH points out, if Harris is elected in Nov, things won’t improve much come Jan. 21. IMO it may worsen, as Harris is a proven ditz on foreign policy, as she is on most things domestic. In all likelihood faceless bureaucrats might continue to run the show, with Harris as their “new” puppet President.
These Israeli actions could force their Arab aggressors to fall back for a time. Those same actions might also provide fodder for future amped up recruiting to those damaged organizations. Perhaps all because there was not a strong, elected leader in the Oval Office, who could deter actions like Oct. 7, by “speaking softly and carrying a big stick”.

Oh they have faces, alright, and many of us believe we know the names attached to those faces. Same crew that was running things for the eight years before Trump Admin 1, and continued to try to do so during Trump’s first term. That crew have been playing Dopey Joey and Crew like an old fiddle since Trump got the election stolen from him. That theft, coverup, and refusal to bring the light of scrutiny to his defeat at the talley stage of the game.
I’m glad you can muster up support for Rich Lowry. I can not. Esp after he spearheaded National Review to put out a full magazine about WHY not to Vote for Trump. I went on a National Review Cruise years ago and found Mr. lowry a cold fish. perhaps I’m being hard but would Mr. Lowry have Given Trump any support for being wronged? NO. What goes around comes around. I abhor what was done to Mr. Lowrey, it’s just wrong but perhaps this is what is called schadenfreude. I plead guilty.

Not to mention his cancellation of John Derbyshire.
