I have figured it out! Why do I like VDH, besides insane intelligence and, more importantly, the ability to reduce extremely complex issues into understandable English. But the truth is: its his voice, his accent. From Kingsburg, I’m from Exeter so he sounds like people I grew up with, dated (including a guy from Kingsburg.). It’s comforting to hear common sense spoken in an accent I am familiar with.
Does “common sense” require a common set of beliefs?

Another factor is having an innate sense of morality, reasoning and conscience that God instills in the human heart.

Agreed, secular ideology and humanistic thinking is persuasive. It is a constant battle to align our thoughts and lives to God’s will. Men need to be drawn back to the Bible to calibrate their morality, reasoning and conscience to the standards of God and his will for man.

Regarding Impeaching Joe Biden –
1. Bribery is an impeachable offense
2. If guilty then the law needs to be honored by acting on it and enforcing it
3. Confidence in the legal system is bolstered when the law is followed
4. Conviction and sentencing deters crime
5. The replacement president will be no worse than Biden because the same personnel will continue to run the government
We don’t have to find the 8 million illegal aliens if we nationalize and ENFORCE E-Verify. They will deport themselves when they can’t work. End of Problem. No violence involved.

You say that if the Republicans can ever get their act together and take the House and Senate and Presidency, they can do a lot. But even if their act is perfect, how do they overcome election rigging? Must they make sure that mail-in ballots that should be rejected are rejected? Make sure video cameras are functional at all drop off box locations? How do you prevent a truckload of fraudulent ballots being dumped at polling places at 3 a.m.? How do you ensure the integrity of vote counting machines if they can’t be audited? In other words, how should Republicans “just get their act together,” with respect to ensuring election integrity? Refreshing to hear the normal sober and judicious Professor Hanson add some humor to the podcast. As they say every good joke has some truth in it and Newsome is definitely an “idiot like Trudeau”.
As for impeaching Biden, it would be fantastic to get a conviction in the Senate but only with a month or two left in this term. That would force the democrats to put Harris up as the incumbent or even make her a lame duck after the primary loss she would face should Biden say he was not running. Either would put the left in a bind knowing Harris is not up to the task. We can finally do away with the democrats virtual signalling for the first woman, and woman of color president.
Knowing the Senate will not convict, it would be smart for the House to impeach him with a couple months left before November. Having his crimes put on full display would work against Biden should he run. Convicted or not it will all be political theater until we get an honest law abiding DOJ in place to prosecute those on the left for real crimes!
Professor Hanson, you’re correct in pointing out the Republicans are failing to plan for the possibility of Trump being incarcerated in 2024.
But you are similarly failing to plan for the possibility that Joe Biden is alive and re-elected in 2024. Have you considered that possibility?
