Federal Clean Up and California’s One-Party State

In this episode, Victor Davis Hanson and cohost Jack Fowler discuss the revoked security clearances, California the most lawful and lawless of states and its medieval decline — impoverished, DEI-ed, mediocritized, and childless — all from universities, Left rallies have Grateful Dead-like following, and the Left’s socialism message failing.

Victor, yourself being a California resident with your ear to the rail, I thought you may be able to clarify a statement made to me by my retired firefighter cousin. He tells me that on the firefighter blogs his peers report that the Los Angeles Fire Department was operated with All-Electric Fire Trucks. I have not heard anyone else report this, including yourself.
I’d somewhat dismissed it as rumor, until I read that the city of Charlotte NC, which is not far from my home, is soon to complete a new fire station which will be operated completely with all-electric trucks.
If LA only uses electric trucks, each with only enough charge for one fire call, and the electric distribution system is down, due to fire, that would be an absolute set-up for the failure that happened in LA.
I would be interested in knowing if there is any truth to this being a factor in the disaster.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom, gleaned from your years of study of human history!

  2. Sir,
Thank you for another clear report on California’s decline in real world examples.
Approximately 25 years ago when many teachers and other civil servants were aging out and retiring, the issue of the State of California Public Employees Retirement System’s financial reserves came into focus. Apparently over time the state legislature had been dipping into these funds; intended to pay retirees and be invested to grow this investment. Kind of like what the Mob did to the Teamsters pension funds.

The Press moved on from the story and I don’t believe there was ever an accounting or replacing of these funds.

  4. In the last special elections, Republicans have lost. We have to be more vigilant about getting out the vote so that we aren’t easily defeated again.
