In this Friday news roundup, Victor Davis Hanson talks with cohost Sami Winc about DOGE confronted by the judiciary, Hamas weaseling out of promises, why criminal illegals weren’t caught before Trump’s admin, declassifying files on JFK and MLK Jr., Marc Fogel returns from Russia, and Fort Bragg becomes Fort Bragg once again.

VDH. Is there no recourse besides impeachment against activist Leftist judges who deliberately interfere with the constitutional actions of the executive branch with their rulings and injunctions? If so, then Barrett and Roberts are encouraging insubordination at the lower judicial levels by not slapping down egregious injunctions like the demand for Trump to unfreeze $2 billion of USAID spending. And they should be held responsible for the flood of lower court decisions that the supreme court will be under pressure to reverse.
You only gave half of Satchel Paige’s quote, Victor. He said, “Don’t look back. Something might be gaining on you.”
When I hear a progressive say, “constitutional crisis”, I think of Inigo Montoya’s quote from “The Princess Bride:” “You keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
Prof Hanson, I too was in the 4th grade when Pres Kennedy was shot and I remember the shock of it. So I went on line and listened to the album, The First Family, for the first time since 1962. I am amazed that I got the jokes in 1962 and that I still find the satire funny in 2025.
