Deep Pockets and Deep Throat: From California’s Homeless to NPR’s Politics

Victor Davis Hanson and cohost Jack Fowler look at California’s homeless and natural beauty, O.J. passes away and the logic of exempting blacks from laws, colleges in a doom loop, the open border is a win-win for Dems, and the unknown knowns of NPR’s leftism.

In the last segment, Victor describes yet again the progressive. The progressive thinks he’s smarter than everyone else, is self-righteous, and expects all those he thinks inferior to him to bow and scrape to him out of gratitude. And those he thinks are inferior are wiser than the progressive.

Just a minor point on applied phonetics, Victor.

Several times I have heard you say the word “articulate”, but you pronounce it, “articulant”.

I know from my own experience that the pronunciation of some of my words as an adulthood were influenced the the incorrect pronunciation that I learned from family members as a child.

Could this be the same with you?

  3. Progressive Billionaires: One of the unsung achievements of the Clintons in the ’90s was the transformation of the Democrat Party from that of FDR’s “everyman” to the party of the sophisticated monied and the very poor. By the ’90s, living memory of FDR was largely gone, and as you’ve previously said, the Clintons aspired to material wealth beyond what could be had in Arkansas. In 1992, the GOP has the big money advantage and one of the planks of the Democrats was “Campaign Finance Reform” even polling showed that nobody cared. By 2000, that was barely a memory. When was the last time you heard anything from anyone about “campaign finance reform”? Not since the Democrats got the big money advantage.

Prior, being a rich Progressive was socially uncomfortable. The Clintons made it safe. The epitome of this transition could be seen in SBF’s “effective altruism” sham. It’s now okay to be worth 9 or more figures as long as you sing Progressive pieties and pay a tithe, and you get invited to hang with the cool and hip instead of shunned.

  4. Appreciate your thoughts and comments, but thoroughly enjoy discussion involving your family and California in those days. I could just see your grandpa sitting on that chair on the porch. Need more of that so that younger folks can understand the depth of loss experienced from those days to today. Thank you.

Dr Davis Hansen your intelligience that is shaking America common sense and we are feeling like the obama scabs philthy blood bath is real and cant be disguised with fake news the enemy of the people.
    Love you

  6. Professor Hanson, I am continually dismayed by the incessant yak from Jack Fowler. This is the Victor Davis Hanson show, after all….

It is fine that you have hosts, but they need to limit their speaking so that we can hear your wisdom….

  7. I have had enough of the disparagement of Jack Fowler. He is a prominent writer and commentator in his own right, an experienced manager of journalistic content, and i think does a good job of managing the hour we get to share with VDH. His voice may not be smooth but his writing and thought are as sharp as they come. Visit Civil Thoughts and become a little more exposed to the man.

    1. Judd that was very kind of you. I wasn’t designed to be a podcast cohost but Victor’s cool with it and the day he becomes uncool with it we’ll find a replacement who I am sure will do a much better job. We are pretty good buddies so maybe that keeps him from getting the hook. Anyway, Jim Dick and others are entitled to their opinions … we should cherish that while we still can! Thanks again and God bless to all.

    2. Agreed, Judd.
Actually, the “conversation” that develops between VDH and Jack or Sami is a treasure. Monologues do not produce alone such treasures.

Keep on keeping on VDH & Jack.
