Listen to Victor Davis Hanson and co-host Jack Fowler as they discuss commencement speeches praising Hamas, Harvard should own its anti-Semitism, Trump’s counter-revolution goes to the core, Rubio revokes visas, Jamie Dimon’s honesty about the economy, Greece post-WWI, Trump’s post, and relations between Trump and the Federalist Society.
The first half hour of this podcast should be broadcast on college radio.. The Only Major Public Speaker from Academia with Moral and Ethical Clarity. GOD’S LAST HONEST MAN
Dr Hanson commented several times that “blue chip” university presidents/leaders keep doubling down on losing propositions and wondered “why”? I suggest that these people are repetitive because they are not flexible of mind. That is particularly ironic since inculcating flexible minds is a primary duty of a great university. So, why is this? I suggest that it is a result of their indoctrination at similar schools. Where did you develop your flexibility of mind? I suggest that it came from farming. Look at a problem, synthesize a solution, assemble the components, commence execution. Then it hales and you have to jury rig another solution. Your adventures in Greece also contributed to your flexibility. If you aren’t challenged, you don’t develop flexibility of mind and tend to commit Einstein’s insanity.
As a followup, Terry, I emailed the website support. I do note that I can see and play the media players for the podcasts, in both Firefox and Chrome. I don’t use Apple, and don’t usually watch the podcasts through YouTube.
Terry Henneuse, do you mean you click to play the podcast, and it doesn’t play, or do you mean that the player doesn’t show at all on the page here at Blade of Perseus?
For the past few days, I have had the latter problem-the player did not show for the podcasts, here at BoP. At the same time, however, the podcasts were available on YouTube, and still are. As of yesterday afternoon, I could see the media player once more here at the website. But only when I start on the podcast list page, https://victorhanson.com/podcasts/, and then click any of them in that list, to drill down to the specific podcast. That’s how I got to this one, where I saw your comment.
Either something is broken here in the website, and our browsers couldn’t or wouldn’t let the media player show. Or there was a deliberate change made to the pages to show the media player only on the specific podcast’s page.
I had not contacted support, and since I can see the player again, I wasn’t going to. But since you posted that you can’t listen, I will.
If you ever want to contact support for the website, just click the “hamburger menu” icon-the three horizontal bars-in the upper left corner of the page. A menu will open from the left side of the page; the menu includes the selection, “Contact Prof. Hanson”. If you click that selection, you’ll get a list of contact info, including “For Problems with the Website”, with email address to contact.
Why haven’t I been able to hear VDH’s podcasts lately?
