I live in Troy, MI. Am a retired English teacher from Birmingham Schools, 25 years in the high school. Interested in “taking” his course. Would consider moving on campus to participate in lectures, etc. if that is indicated by format. You can understand, I need a lot more information on doing this. Would you send additional information, please. I read everything Dr. Hanson writes, including his books, his website and periodicals articles for many years. I am a “senior”. Please advise.

  2. Please email me a copy of your September 16 presentation

  3. Will this be live-streamed? or in some way available to those of us who live afar?

The present generations of nihilistic redistributionists are no Sullas, Robespierres, or Lenins.

What a duke’s mixture!: an Optimate dictator who overturned the populist reforms of the brothers Gracchi; a bourgeois, pro-Christian Jacobin; and an atheistic statist who steamrolled the kulaks only to reverse course with the NEP. It’s hard to know what sort of conclusion the reader is expected to draw from that gaggle …. other than we should shutter at the horror of the blood they spilled and ignore the economic inequities that preceded their rise to power.

You did seem to hit one nail on the head … the west’s decline is due to unbridled capitalism and private property rights.

Hope you feel better now that you’ve vented your spleen. I know I do. LOL

Actually, if you understood history then you would have clearly understood the point Dr. Hanson was making.

Sulla’s proscriptions, Robespierre’s Reign of Terror, and Lenin’s Bolshevik revolution are not a dog’s breakfast of unrelated events. All three men were driven by a similar sense of grievance that led to the slaughter of thousands of innocent lives and achieved nothing more than replacing one bloodthirsty tyrant for another.

Hanson isn’t arguing that we are at the same point with Barak Obama’s “total transformation” of our country, but the rule of law under this third-rate community organizer is eroding, AEB his executive amnesty for illegal aliens; arbitrary suspension of politically inconvenient parts of the ACA; and Lois Lerner’s abuse of authority that was used to target Obama’s political enemies. And when the rule of law is replaced by the rule of men, civilization and individual liberty fall by the wayside.

“The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” – George Orwell

Would it be possible to live stream Dr. Hanson’s public lecture, or provide a transcript of it? I would be interested in hearing his thoughts and opinions on the 2016 Republican field.

  6. Will it be put on YouTube ?
