Martha Raddatz: “This debate is, indeed, historic. We have two Catholic candidates, first time, on a stage such as this. And I would like to ask you both to tell me what role religion has played in your own personal views on abortion.” Continue reading “The Abortion Question: Vice Presidential Responses Fall Short”

One Nation, Under God?

‘Religious Defamation’ Laws Would Ban Islam

by Raymond Ibrahim

Frontpage Magazine

As the Islamic world, in the guise of the 57-member state Organization of Islamic Cooperation, continues to push for the enforcement of “religious defamation” laws in the international arena — theoretically developed to protect all religions from insult, but in reality made for Islam — one great irony is lost, especially on Muslims: if such laws would ban movies and cartoons that defame Islam, they would also, by logical extension, have to ban the religion of Islam itself — the only religion whose core texts actively defame other religions. Egypt’s Salafi Party Objects to Banning Sex Slavery

Considering that the abduction, enslavement, rape, and trafficking of Coptic Christian girls, especially minors, in Egypt is at an all time high — according to US lawyers, 550 such cases have been documented in the last five years — Egypt’s Constituent Assembly to the Constitution met yesterday to consider the inclusion of a new article, Continue reading “It’s All Violence on Copts: From Sex Slavery to Calls of Genocide in Egypt”

Islam’s ‘Holy Month’ of Christian Oppression

by Raymond Ibrahim

Investigative Project on Terrorism

The month of Ramadan, which ended earlier this week, proved to be a month of renewed Muslim piety on the one hand, and renewed oppression of non-Muslim minorities on the other. In Nigeria, for example, Islamic militants are living up to the assertion that “Ramadan is a month of jihad and death for Allah,” proving that killing Christians is not only reserved for Christian holidays — like Christmas and Easter, when militants bombed churches killing dozens — but is especially applicable during Islam’s Ramadan. Who Gets a Pass?

by Victor Davis Hanson

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel recently said of the Chick-fil-A fast-food franchise that “Chick-fil-A’s values are not Chicago’s values.” Why? Because Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy is on record as being opposed to gay marriage — as is close to half the US population, according to polls. The mayors of Boston and San Francisco also suggested that the company isn’t welcome in their cities. Continue reading “Who Gets a Pass?”

Obama in Never-Never Land

by Victor Davis Hanson

National Review Online

The chief tenet of postmodernism is that truth and facts are arbitrary constructs, set up by the privileged to manipulate others less fortunate. In the case of our first postmodernist president, Barack Obama, there cannot be facts, past or present, only a set of shifting assertions that gain credence to the degree that they prove transitorily useful for progressive causes. Obama Administration’s War on Persecuted Christians

by Raymond Ibrahim

Investigative Project on Terrorism

The Obama administration’s support for its Islamist allies means lack of US support for their enemies, or, more properly identified, victims — the Christian and other non-Muslim minorities of the Muslim world. Consider the many recent proofs: Continue reading “Obama Administration’s War on Persecuted Christians”
