How I wish for the option of voting for "None of these candidates" here in Wyoming!! Those folks in Nevada sure do get to say what they think at a time when the blasted politicians will listen!

I find Victor Davis Hanson's columns very thoughtful, perceptive and insightful. It is a pleasure reading them.

A thought provoking article. The trouble is, to borrow your metaphor, if you don't breach the leftists' minefield and take the fight to them, you end up hemmed in and within their politically correct minefield, just taking crossfire from all directions until you die. That's been happening for decades now. The strong Australian Conservative PM, Tony Abbott made too many of your mistake of avoiding bombs and apologising instead of being himself and attacking, for fear of the left painting him as aggressive and sexist (he was formely an amateur boxer). Even after winning in a landslide, the Alinsky attacks continued reletlessly and wore him down into a besieged bunker mode, where he was assassinated by his own party. Interestingly, I believe that many sympathetic Australians eventually also just got frustrated and tired of the daily hate published in MSM against their PM. There is only so much beating of your champion you can witness, before giving up on him. No, Trump is right. He is plowing the field of free speach for us all, because each leftist bomb he blows up can't be used again. He has destroyed the PC IED's of sexism, of islamophobia, of bigotry - not with clever disarming arguments, but by walking into them and coming out the other side - letting us all know that these bombs are not lethal. I no longer care is someone calls me islamophobic - if I am then so is Trump and nearly 50% of US population - and in any case it's a nonsense term on too many levels to describe. My wife just told her boss she might do a Trump on him (and walk away from a bad deal) to a stunned silence followed by acquiescence. I warn everybody I talk with socially that I am a proud Trump supporter, and people are becoming a lot more respectful of that. Even if he looses, just one man against the behemoth of the establishment, he has exposed the corruption, the arrogance and the incompetence of these snowflakes and shown the way for us all to beat this trully evil, globalist establishment.

Some days it looks as though the prog Democrats have finally succeeded in convincing enough people that a statist federal government advancing a Marxist-Leninist agenda is the American way. More than ever, it looks a though the country is ruled by the ideological, incoherent left and a corrupt cabal of corporatists who care about profits more than people. With the failed institutions of the church, academia, the media and the Federal government, it's highly questionable whether the political system can set the country on a course correction back to sanity and national viability. Unless enough voters wake up to the dangers presented by a Hillary Clinton presidency, the United States need not worry about ISIS, al-Qaida or radical Islam. History will record the death of the United States of America as a murder-suicide.

The title of your column is "Trump vs. Trump". I see the problem as "Trump vs The World" Trump is certainly not the ideal candidate. He is blunt and combative, a professed counter puncher. I believe the man may be an extrovert and as such, words slip right out of his mouth but like much else said and written about the man, this is only opinion. It seems to me that Donald Trump is under massive attack by a constitutionally derelict progressive media (Progda) bent on his destruction and acting in concert with the Democrat party. Worse, powerful forces within the Republican party are cheering this destruction. We have seen several times already where the Democrats pounce on a perceived gaffe, shout "FOUL", and their supporting army of media megaphonists amplify and repeat the slurs over a period of days emboldening the anti-Trump Republicans to contribute their agitprop. This week alone we saw, disavowals from liberal Republicans running for reelection in purple districts in red states. We saw the scurrilous letter from 50 so called Republican national security, anti-Putin new cold warriors. We saw a Romney candidate from Utah announce his candidacy. Compounding the real war within the party, we were fed yet another week of media agitprop about interventions and dissension within the GOPe as "Preibus is warning Trump" or party calls for all GOP dollars to be spent only on Congressional races. What we didn't was support from the GOP leaders. The Democrats are looking for every opportunity to demonize Trump mercilessly and unlike any candidate that I can recall in my lifetime, the nominee is getting no support from others in his party. Running as an outsider, Trump made many enemies within the Washington DC to NYC establishment. Without the traditional party support to fend off attacks and counter the narrative, Trump's poll numbers have been suppressed. There is no doubt that these attacks will continue. The question is, will enough recalcitrant Republicans put the country and their party above their bruised egos and personal self-interests and actually help Donald Trump get elected?

The facts are: 1. Trump is ignorant in many areas - Geography, Foreign Policy, the Constitution, the English language, etc. 2. He hasn't the intellect to form and enunciate thoughts and ideas in compound complex sentences; he can't state them in simple sentences. 3. He cannot control his emotions. 4. He won't win.

A typically brilliant summary from America's best political writer.

Mr. Hanson: Regardless of who wins in November, the winner will face a crisis of legitimacy, as the losers will regard the government not just as opponents, but as enemies and occupiers. The fear Mr. Trump creates in journalists and left-wing politicians is justified. But they should realize that Mr. Trump is only the beginning. What should really frighten them is what happens next.
