Susan Rice, one of the national security advisors under Barack Obama, in a recent interview warns universities, corporations, and elites of all types that anyone who has cooperated with Trump’s executive orders (largely on matters of following the Supreme Court’s anti-affirmative action rulings and Trump’s ban on DEI programs?) would face payback when the Democrats return to power.
There are a number of problems with her boasts:
1) It is not at all clear that in 2028, the Democratic field of AOC, Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, and Pete Buttigieg could defeat, for example, a Vance/Rubio ticket. If true, is it now wise to promise to punish your enemies when your enemies are now and may still be in power for another seven years?
2) It is not quite clear against what or whom Rice means will be targets of Democrats’ punishment, other than institutions that either supported Trump, gave money to his cause, or followed the law and obeyed his executive orders. So, there is a lot to ponder with Rice’s buffoonish threats.
We should first remember that Rice has always had a problem with the truth. She could not get confirmed as Secretary of State, given that she had misled the country on Benghazi some five times on Sunday news shows. She had foolishly claimed that an amateurish video prompted a spontaneous riot at the U.S. consulate and annex. In fact, the terrorists had carefully planned the attacks—and had earlier posed a clear threat that the Obama administration had foolishly ignored and tried to use Rice to cover up its laxity.
Do we also remember that Rice accused Netanyahu of “almost” saying the N-word when he criticized Obama (i.e., that is, he didn’t say the N-word, despite Rice’s insinuation). As a footnote, the problem in today’s America is not Israelis or Jewish supporters of Israel using pejorative racial epithets, but rather a deep-seated anti-Semitism in the entire DEI/woke movement. (Cf. the anti-Semitic slurs from the late Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Kanye West, and Kyrie Irving to the Black Hebrew movement and both the disproportionate number of Jewish victims of hate-crimes and overrepresentation of blacks as hate-crime perpetrators, as exemplified by the recent “knock-out” attacks against Hasidic Jews by black teens.)
Rice also assured us that all the WMD in the Bashar Assad arsenal in Syria had been demolished according to Obama’s infamous “red line” braggadocio—until it wasn’t and was used against civilians.
3) But what particular “crime” does Rice claim was committed by “elites” who worked with the Trump administration?
And what did she mean by payback? Does Rice envision any of the following retaliations against Trump or his supporters—given that we have already been down that long road in 2021–25?
- Trying to raid his Mar-a-Lago home again with an FBI swat team?
- Harassing corporate CEOs to see if any “overvalued” their properties to obtain loans which were paid back in full and with profitable interest profits for the banks who had no complaints?
- Sending FBI agents into school board meetings again to monitor parental questions?
- Trying to jail any opponent who paid for non-disclosure contracts, who was running for office, on the premise that they had not reported campaign expenses?
- Organizing efforts to take Republican opponents off state ballots?
- Will Rice help again to spread a new version of the Steele dossier to slander the next Republican presidential candidate?
- Will she try to get social media companies to again work with the FBI to suppress unfavorable news stories?
In other words, the Left has for a decade tried to bankrupt, jail, impeach, and remove Trump—and harass his supporters. Not even two assassination attempts by Trump haters could stop him. Why does Susan Rice think she can come up with a new sort of effective payback against his successors when she and the Left failed so miserably against Trump himself? And why does she assume that the Left will soon regain power and entrust her with any position of authority?

Trump and the Republicans need to weaponize these comments in campaign ads against the Democrats for the 2026 midterm election. We need to remind voters who like to think of themselves as moderate or independents that the out of control unprecedented Democratic lawfare that they were repulsed by in 2023 and 2024 will come back with a vengeance if they vote for Democrats or simply just stay on the sideline. And for disaffected voters who complain that Trump has not fixed fast enough the economy that was broken and inflated by the Democratic congress, we need to remind them that Trump has reversed the bad direction and laid the groundwork for accelerating progress in the right direction. Is it smart to have a hissy fit about not having gone far enough in the right direction by giving control of congress to the party that wants to send you back in the wrong direction, thereby frustrating further progress in the right direction? Talk about cut off your nose to spite your face. Democratic political messaging amplified by their MSM mouthpiece involves nonstop shameless lying by commission and omission. You need a Lee Atwater/Roger Ailes like hardball ad campaign to counter effectively.
Yes she is a despicable person, but she is representative of a lot of what now comprises the Non-American Democrat/Marxist-Socialist party.
It is a sad thing, my view, that any patriotic American would vote for any Democrat going forward. Truly sad...
She's a despicable human being.
