Donald Trump’s first State of the Union speech of his second term was long as it was a ‘good slice of Americana,’ argues Victor Davis Hanson on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words,” with Sami Winc. The images of Democrats sinking into their chairs as Trump praised the USA Men’s Hockey Team and memorialized the horrific murder to Iryna Zarutska further showed the nation that the party of FDR and Clinton is now occupied by such “a sad group of people” with contorted faces.

Sad indeed. The dems ware their “party of misery“ badge proudly.
I wrote a letter to both AZ Senators and my Congressional Rep asking them to resign after the State of the Union (see below). I watched the State of the Union address last evening and was deeply disturbed—not by the President’s remarks, but by the conduct of members of Congress who chose to attend and yet openly demonstrated contempt for the office, the Constitution, and the citizens they were elected to represent. The State of the Union is not a partisan rally. It is a constitutional obligation and a moment meant to reflect national unity, respect for democratic institutions, and fidelity to the American people. Your conduct during that address reflected none of those values. I find it unconscionable that elected officials would prioritize political theater and ideological allegiance over the safety, dignity, and lawful interests of American citizens. The open rejection of law-abiding Americans—while signaling sympathy for policies that have enabled illegal immigration, violent crime, and the erosion of public trust—represents a fundamental breach of the social contract between you and your constituents. Members of Congress swear an oath to uphold the Constitution and to faithfully serve the people of their state. Based on your actions, I no longer believe you are fulfilling that oath. Leadership requires restraint, seriousness, and respect for the institutions you serve. What was displayed instead was dereliction of duty. For these reasons, I believe you have demonstrated that you are unfit to continue serving in the United States Congress. I am therefore calling for your immediate resignation and will actively support any effort to replace you with a representative who takes their constitutional responsibilities seriously. History remembers those who place ideology above country. I hope you reflect on your conduct and understand that accountability—whether political or moral—is unavoidable when public trust is betrayed
