Europe’s Leaders Still Don’t Get It

Europe’s Leaders Still Don’t Get It

Europe is facing growing unrest as political leaders continue to dismiss public concerns over immigration, crime, and social cohesion. Victor Davis Hanson examines the backlash spreading across Britain and the continent, the dangers of tribal politics, and why many citizens are losing confidence in their governing elites. He also discusses Iran’s ongoing confrontation with the West, Hamas’ use of civilian institutions in Gaza, and the troubling state of higher education as universities struggle with declining academic standards, administrative bloat, and ideological conformity. From foreign policy to immigration to the future of Western institutions, Hanson argues that leadership failures are producing consequences that can no longer be ignored.

Thank you for an intelligent conversation. I greatly admire VDH, and never miss a show. My son obtained his Bachelor Degree from the University of Houston, in Political Science, and is currently obtaining his masters degree at the American University in DC, Political Science, majoring in Foreign Affairs. He has Interned for Congressman Wesley Hunt, Houston Mayor John Whitmire, Harris County Administration, Graduated UH Summa Cum Laude, and as a Harris Fellow, and received quite a good scholarship from AU (Online), and is now Interning for the City of Jersey Village, as an Intern City Administrator, in their little Town Hall, on outskirts of Houston. My daughter is going to be Senior at Texas A&M, Harold Vance School of Petroleum Engineering, my background, and am not too worried about my daughter's career path, but wish I knew what career path my son should take, once he graduates from AU, with a Masters in Political Science next year. How could he utilize this education to obtain a career in Foreign Policy ? Would the State Department and CIA, or can you talk about career paths for Political Majors, like him ? I know race does not matter, but he is half Scottish American (Me) & half Indonesian/Arab (His mother/my ex). I raised both my kids alone. Thank you.
