{"id":11731,"date":"2019-03-19T13:06:36","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T20:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/victorhanson.com\/wordpress\/?p=11731"},"modified":"2019-03-19T13:06:43","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T20:06:43","slug":"ivy-league-schools-wither","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/victorhanson.com\/wordpress\/ivy-league-schools-wither\/","title":{"rendered":"Ivy-League Schools Wither"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Victor Davis Hanson \/\/ National Review<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;&nbsp;number of liberal bastions are daily being hammered \u2014 especially the elite university and Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Yale and a Stanford, or Facebook and Google, assume \u2014 for the most part rightly \u2014 that each is so loudly progressive that the public, federal and state regulators, and politicians would of course turn a blind eye to anything questionable that these social-justice institutions did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And they have done a lot of quite questionable things \u2014 cynically (and in medieval fashion) using their progressive veneer to exempt themselves from the consequences of their actions, so that they may do what otherwise would earn scrutiny and worse for most other American institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our nation\u2019s marquee universities, such as Yale, Stanford, and Georgetown \u2014 with dozens more no doubt to be named \u2014 recently got caught selling admittances. Or rather a few of their employees somehow freelanced under administration noses and sold entrances for cash.
