{"id":11467,"date":"2018-10-22T23:10:34","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T06:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/victorhanson.com\/wordpress\/?p=11467"},"modified":"2018-10-22T23:10:34","modified_gmt":"2018-10-23T06:10:34","slug":"wolves-in-wolves-clothing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/victorhanson.com\/wordpress\/wolves-in-wolves-clothing\/","title":{"rendered":"Wolves in Wolves&#8217; Clothing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Victor Davis Hanson \/\/ American Greatness<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"wpsdcp-drop-cap-default\">I<\/span>f the New Democratic Party was smart, it would do what the old Democratic Party did long ago: always sound centrist if not conservative in the last weeks of a campaign, get elected, then revert to form and pursue a left-wing agenda for a year or two\u2014and then repeat the chameleon cycle every two to four years.<\/p>\n<p>But although many Democrats in Trump states still dance the old bipartisan two-step, lots of blinkered progressive wolves don\u2019t even bother to put on the sheep\u2019s clothing.<\/p>\n<p>Evidently, the new progressive and radical Democratic Party is far more honest\u2014or perhaps far more hubristic\u2014than in the past. So what now looks and sounds like a wolf\u00a0<i>is a wolf<\/i>. Democrats have learned nothing and forgotten nothing from 2016. Or rather, they still believe it is 2008 all over again, with a host of wannabe Obamas on the 2020 horizon, all appealing to identity politics,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maenad\">Maenad<\/a>\u00a0feminism, and neo-socialism.
