We have “100 years of natural gas below our feet” is Rep. Troy Balderon’s, R-Ohio, appraisal of the energy situation in his home state. Since the early 2010s, The Buckeye State has been host to one of the largest “fracking booms” in the country, which has helped awaken and foster the entrepreneurial spirit throughout the rust belt. Rep. Balderson joins Jack Fowler on today’s “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words” to discuss Ohio’s economic reemergence.

Excellent interview on VDH. I'd like Rep Balderson to add one other twist to his comments. I live in the northern part of KY, not far from the Ohio gas fields. I SEE better than I HEAR. I HEAR we have "100 years of natural gas". I SEE my $372 January '26 home heating bill (used 18% less gas than Jan 25, bill $323). I HEAR we have 100 years of natural gas. I SEE tight supply due to cold winter and sales to Europe. My monthly home heating bill is 3 times my monthly gasoline bill. I appreciate cheaper gasoline but when do we SEE natural gas prices going down as we HEAR about abundant supply? I HEAR and SEE a real and perceived affordability issue.
