For Western elites, Ahmadinejad is preferable to Hirsi Ali, the Castros to Cuban dissidents.

  1. It is an honor to read your stream of consciousness and should be required reading to graduate from college—what a country it would be. Thru negation, you come to the positive– “know thyself”. The years ahead will provide endless material to stream-on as the cauldron bubbles over…

  2. This has been by design, look and criticize the West in a vacuum, teach X, Y, Z culture studies sympathetically and emphasize the West’s faults in these. Comparative analysis is essentially heretical, and what indoctrinated students are left with is to chant alongside their other intellectual zombies “you can only be racist if you’re white” or “the West and white people are to blame for everything wrong in the world”
The goal is to prop up and optimize the views of the “non-west” cultures with little to no criticism, and to excoriate to the marrow any wrong doing of Western cultures.

  3. The behavior of the media and academics in condemning Western Civilization is easy to understand. They are looking for righteousness, and believe that they’ve found it. It’s always easier to point fingers than use real introspection to examine oneself – it’s mob action on a small scale, except that these days the mob action is growing to a much larger scale as the West falls further into decadence and further away from any semblance of righteousness. Absolution is the goal, and the Left strives for it, continually, believing that if they’re able to point God to someone worse than themselves, they get a hall pass. Note that they also believe God to be an idiot.

  4. The ‘study everything until you know nothing’ western elitist liberal suffers from an interesting form of intellectual rot that might be cured into an experiential empathy by using the old Chinese Communist practice of sending intellectuals to work at hard labor on farms periodically. I will ‘dream on’ now.
